CORNERSTONE CHRISTIAN PRESCHOOL INC. HISTORY
Cornerstone Christian Preschool was founded in 1985 as an ancillary service of the Cornerstone Christian Church. The preschool was founded to provide
non-denominational child care for children in the San Bernardino, Colton and Rialto areas of California. The primary task in ensuring this success is offering skills that go beyond learning to read and write at an early age. The program provides a stimulating environment which offers opportunities to explore, create,
examine and question without concern for judgement, disapproval or criticism, healthy self-esteem and the ability to get along well with others, producing lifelong benefits. We believe that low-income families with
children deserve an opportunity to work and attend school with the assurance that their children are in a safe, comfortable learning environment. Every effort is made to assure quality care, with special attention given to the
needs of each individual child and family dynamics. In 1994 we started the elementary school as an ancillary of the preschool. Some of the parents of the preschoolers requested to keep their children in a
Christian environment. So a private school affidavit was acquired, and a private kindergarten class began. The next year we added a first grade. A year after a second grade, and the next year a third grade. The next year the owners
decided to add fourth, fifth, and sixth grades. Now Cornerstone Christian School is Preschool K-6th Grade. The parents are happy, but because the school is non-profit, it is hard to receive funds that are so greatly needed to keep
the school open. We are determined with the help of God to keep the school operating. Cornerstone School is in the process of ordering new books for the current year 1998-1999. School will open September 8, 1998. If
you would like to sponsor a child or donate school books, it would be greatly appreciated. We are continually writing grants to Private Incorporations and Foundations, but we have not had many positive responses. We will not
give up. We are doing a good work for the parents and their children. Our parents are struggling hard trying to work, and some are going to school. They need us, and through your help we will be there for them. You will be blessed
for your help. Please read the following scriptures. Nehemiah 6:2-5 3 And I sent messengers unto them, saying, I am
doing a great work, so that I cannot come down: why should the work cease, whilst I leave it, and come down to you? 4 Yet they sent unto me four times after this sort; and I answered them after the same manner.
The organization incorporated in 1992 as a private, not-for-profit corporation. The mission and philosophy are to
provide children ages 2 - 12 with a high quality developmental program, which will support the normal growth of each individual child, and provide supportive family services. The main emphasis are social, academic, physical and
moral values which lead to strong foundations for success. We create an environment that will enhance children's self-esteem, and inspire a love of learning that generates a solid foundation for future educational success.
